Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings. Day Dreaming of Matisse and His Days in Nice (1987); Ricardo was studying the Master Matisse and was inspired to paint this magnificent work of art from an arrangement Alexa designed for him and put in his studio.
