Description
Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings.
John Lennon (12-8-80); Ricardo was so saddened by Lennon's assassination yet grateful for his own survival of gun violence that he paid homage to John on the very day he was shot. Ricardo continued to paint over the next 3-4 weeks paying tribute to Lennon through his art.
