Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings.
Muse (1980); painted left handed one year after his injury. It is full of self reflection but inspiring for his future as he was extremely grateful for his gift to continue to paint. Ricardo studied the Masters of Art and was often influenced by their spirits,
