Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings. Parrot Tulip (1988); is again a celebration and statement from Ricardo in his regaining the use of his right hand.
