Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings. Seated Man Dancing (1988); with the unveiling of his masterpiece, Ricardo's renaissance painting signified his triumphant rehabilitation. This work was licensed by Microsoft's Accessible Technology Group, inspiring interest in Penalver"s work from Dana and Christopher Reeve.
