Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings. Through Vincent's Eyes (1987); Ricardo related to Van Gogh on many levels, in this work depicting himself as the master.
