Peñalver (1937-1995), the quintessential 20th Century American Surrealistic Artist of his generation, was a prolific painter before his paralysis in 1979. The ensuing years were challenging as he depicted his transition from walking to wheels in hundreds of paintings.
Rainbow Crane with Wheels (8-22-91); Ricardo humored himself toward the end of his life with these extremely imaginative and playful cranes. Ricardo also felt a bit of a 'odd bird' especially being in a chair in the late 70s through 95. It is also amazing the this tiny work of art was completed exactly on the same day at Mastery 3 years early.
